West Chester Story Slam offers Storytelling Workshops, Tutoring, and custom-designed Storytelling Seminars for Businesses and non-profit organizations. We conduct a two-night Storytelling Workshop with Chester County Night School and also offer custom workshops.

Perhaps you’d like to compete in a local Story Slam or just weave personal tales into your business presentations. This two-night class will give you the tools to draft your story and an opportunity to tell your story in front of a small audience.
The first Session will consist of classroom instruction and interaction. Topics include: What Makes a Good Story, Basic Story Structure, and Creative Language. In the second session, participants will have the opportunity to present their own five-minute story and receive constructive feedback from their peers.

Jim Breslin is the founder of the West Chester Story Slam, a monthly storytelling event in its 5th year. Over 450 stories have been told in front of thousands of audience members. He is also the founder of the Delco Story Slam, the co-founder of Lancaster Story Slam and has been a featured storyteller at the Scranton Story Slam and Liberation. Jim is a writer, editor, publisher and television producer, having been a producer and executive at the world’s largest home shopping network QVC.He is the author of the novel SHOPLANDIA and the short story collection Elephant: Short Stories and Flash Fiction. He lives in West Chester, PA.
Terry Heyman Terry is a wife, mother, former lawyer, former entrepreneur and former university instructor. Currently writer, frequent story slammer, occasional comedienne, and a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. And she’s phenomenal at making a mountain out of a molehill.
